NieJianguo, born in 1958, professor and doctoral supervisor of Civil EngineeringDepartment of Tsinghua University and MOE Changjiang Scholar Professor,specializing in research on steel-concrete composite structures for nearly 30years and publishing more than 20 papers on international journals such as Journalof Structural Engineering-ASCE and Engineering Structures. He has completed theresearch or design work for a number of composite bridges, including ChongqingGuanyinyan Changjiang River Bridge, Qingdao Bay Bridge, Xiamen YuanboyuanBridge, Shenzhen North Station Bridge, Nanning Interchange Bridge of ZhuxiAvenue and Minzu Avenue and Beijing Zizhuyuan Interchange Bridge. He was thewinner of First and Second China Top 100 Most Influential Academic Theses Awardand honored with such titles as China Excellent Post-doctor.
