Zhang Renjie, Ph.D., professor and doctoral supervisor ofChangsha University of Science and Technology, member of International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineering (IABSE), director of Bridge and Structural Engineering Branch of China Highway & Transportation Bridge Society, executive director of Hunan Highway & Transportation Society, and member of CPPCC Hunan Provincial Committee. For 30 years, he has been engaged in research on analysis, design and appraisal for structural reliability of highway and bridge engineering and has made significant achievements. Projects completed under his leadership have been rewarded with one second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and various ministerial and provincial science and technology progress awards.
