In order to solve the problems met in the BRT planning and design process in Xiamen, taking advantage of technical superiorities of rail Co., Ltd. launched the research of sets of BRT technology. The project involves all the key expertises of BRT planning and design with some national initiative results. This book is the summary based on this research. It describes systematically 16 professional areas in the BRT planning and design, including network planning, traffic organization and operation management, traffic safety, road engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering, station construction, maintenance of vehicle facilities, intelligent system, escalators and security doors, power lighting and landscape projects; meanwhile, along with some photos, it gives a review of Xiamen BRT Line One which is the first domestic engineering example reserved to escalate into rail transit.

It presided over the regimentation of dozens of national and industry norms and standards. It committed the survey and design tasks of a large number of national high speed railways like Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway, which accounts for over 50% of high-speed railways under construction.
