Chen Baochun, D.E., Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Fuzhou University and Expert Entitled to Special Allowances of the State Council; now acting as the discipline leader of bridge and tunnel engineering, Fuzhou University, Principal of Fujian Provincial College Innovation Team-- “Research on New Technology for Large-span Arch Bridge”, and Executive Deputy Director of Sustainable and Innovative Bridge Engineering Research Center of Fujian Province University (SIBERC). He is an ex-officio member and secretary-general of Permanent Scientific Committee of International Conference on Arch Bridges, Director of China Council of International Association for Bridge Management and Safety (IBAMSA), Deputy Director-general of China Steel Construction Society—Association for Steel-Concrete Composite Structures, and executive director of Bridge and Structural Engineering Branch of China Highway and Transportation Society.

Major research direction: arch bridge, seamless bridge, composite structure, ultra-performance concrete bridge, and hollow-slab bridge. His research is at the international leading level in terms of research and application of CFST arch bridges. He has been honored with one 2nd Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, two 1st prizes, six 2nd prizes and one 3rd prize of the provincial science and technology awards.
